Admissions

 

Undergraduate
Students desiring to work toward a degree must provide a copy of a completed high school diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma) or have an equivalent education, or in lieu of high school transcripts, transfer students may submit official transcripts from any accredited post-secondary institution attended.

Students transferring credits from other institutions of higher learning must provide official, sealed transcripts directly from the college or university to Living Word Ministry University Admissions Office. Prospective students applying to Living Word Ministry University must submit a completed Application for Admission with required documentation and a non-refundable application fee of $35.00.

To allow adequate time for processing, all applications must be submitted by August 7th prior to the beginning of the semester. A late fee of $25.00 will be assessed to those students who submit application after this time prior to the beginning of the semester. Once the application is received and processed, notification of status will be sent to the student by mail as soon as possible after the receipt of the application by the University. If accepted, the student will also receive a Student Information Packet, which will include additional information necessary for registration and payment of tuition.

Audit
An applicant applying for admission as an audit student must submit an application along with payment of the application fee of $35.00. No record of previous academic work is required for audit students. A record of classes audited will be maintained, but no academic credits will be awarded.  An audit fee of $50.00 will be charged per course.

Audit II
An applicant applying for admission as an audit student must submit an application along with payment of the application fee of $35.00. No record of previous academic work is required for audit students. A record of classes audited will be maintained, but no academic credits will be awarded.  An audit fee of $120.00 will be charged per course.  A student through this audit level may take any course and complete all or as much of the coursework possible and at any time complete the requirements, pay the difference in tuition and receive full-academic credit for the course.

Registration
January 1st – July 1st accept applications/ registrations for fall semester…more script for explanation of costs and process.

Prior to registration, all requirements for admission must be completed. Pre-registration is available for returning students the final weeks of each semester.

Official registration is held for all students beginning three weeks prior to the start of each semester and will continue for approximately two weeks. Registration will end one week before classes begin. Late registration is available by appointment the immediate week before classes begin, but a late fee of $25.00 will be charged to all students registering during this time. All registration dates are posted on the official University calendar and will be included in the Student Information Packet.

Orientation
August 7th Orientation [Orientation Meetings – August 7th at the beginning of classes]
All students are required to participate in orientation at the beginning of their enrollment. Orientation serves to assist students in adjusting to university life and includes an overview of policies, procedures, and services of Living Word Ministry University. Dates for orientation will be listed on the official University calendar and will be included in the Student Information Packet.

Attendance
Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement essential for both scholastic achievement and success in ministry.

Students will be expected to attend all classes and complete all assignments and examinations on time. Attendance will be monitored and is a factor in final course grading. Two unexcused absences will result in failure of the course.

Student Absences are required to notify instructors of anticipated absences in advance.

Excused Absences Students with excused absences may be assigned make-up work as decided upon by the instructor and/or campus director. The student will still be required to complete all assignments and examinations.

Student Classification(s)
At the end of each Academic year, students will be expected to have met the following Academic Work Requirements:

Freshman 0 – 30 academic credits
Sophomore 31 – 60 academic credits (Associate of Biblical Theology)
Junior 61 – 90 academic credits
Senior 91-120 academic credits (Bachelor of Theology)
Graduate Level 121-160 academic credits (Master of Theology)
Doctoral Level 160+ academic credits (Doctorate of Theology)

Tuition & Fees
All LWMU full time students will pay the same amount, using one of the following methods of payment:
Total cost for One School Year if paid at time of registration – Fall and Spring Semesters $2,600.00
Total cost for One School Year if on payment plan – Fall and Spring Semesters $2,800.00

Night School Quarterly Payment Plan
First installment – $700.00 Due at time of registration
Second installment – $700.00 Due September 18, 2014
Third installment – $700.00 Due November 6, 2014
Fourth installment – $700.00 Due February 5, 2015

In addition to the University fees & Tuition students will be required to purchase their own supplies. Courses will require reading texts. Students will be responsible to purchase required books. Students should anticipate up to $350.00/year for books.

The Night School Program cost is $2,600.00 per year and may be paid yearly, by quarterly (w/ payment plan) or by course. Payments and policies will be the same as those outlined for the LWMU Academic Program as follows:

Tuition                  $2,400 ($240.00/undergraduate)

$2,500 ($250.00 graduate/course)
$2,700 ($270.00 post-graduate/course)

**All fees except tuition are paid upfront by the first class.
